I really liked this one right off the bat. Got a very nice ripe and sweet red fruited core, really aromatic and complex. Rather seductive and sensual vibes, and I didn’t pick up too much greens/pyrazines on this. Silky palate too, and there is really not much grip left in the mouth.

Boxing day at Caroline's: Brought for a friend. Think the crowd had difficulty telling which was the new-world wine between this and the Dominus. Savoury but with a lush palate. Dark, slightly plummy fruit that was not very expressive and vibrant, especially alongside the Dominus and ‘90 Pape Clement.

From an owc purchased on release. Quite lush and rich with hint of port-like sensation that was found in a few 75 and 82 L’evangile I had in the past. It was quite vibrant and fresh on the palate but just lacking that bit of cohesiveness and integration on the palate.

Dark and masculine Bdx aromas with leather, smoke, liquorice and something green. Full bodied, and very tannic for a Pomerol of this age. I actually guessed it was a Graves. Developed positively in the glass over three hours.

This enters the mouth with power and grace and has plenty of depth of black fruit. Wonderful flavors of truffles and dark spices but the texture and the finish are just a notch below the others tonight. Commanderie dinner, Vestry, NYC.
