Leroy Vosne Romanee 2009 Nice lunch with a good friend at a Tel Aviv restaurant. P&P. The wet cork .. On the nose rose petal, very floral, plenty of red fruit, pepper and hints of spices. Palate medium body, refined, smooth and velvety, pleasant acidity and beautifully balanced. Great fun.

January 2020 Vosne Village Tasting: Double decanted for an hour and drank over 3 hours in glass. Universally the WOTN. Dark, brooding and sappy with excellent lift and and long seamless finish. Damp forest pine notes and all spice. This was special. I can't see any way this does not have Grand Cru fruit in it. An absolute baby in it's lifespan but definitely can be drunk now for those liking them young. It has everything in proportion beautifully. A class above the Cathiard and Dugat-Py. Really pricey sadly on the secondary market...

Pnp, bottle had old seepage (typical of Leroy?), in he name of seeing if the wine suffered any torture, the cork is pulled. Color is medium dark ruby. Nose has abundant of red fruits, floral and hint of spice. Good extraction, distinct acidity blend nicely with sweet fruits that lingers. Easily a premium cru level of wine in other top domaines, sadly a price to match as well.

Pinot Noir and some Champagne (Restaurant Brunnenstube, Beinstein): Clear, medium ruby-garnet color. Clean, medium intense nose with some brett, herbs and oak. Quite deep. Dry, lots of oak, sweet, ripe fruit, herbs and spices. A bit massive on the palate with some pressure and grip, but with a surprisingly short and immediate finish. 13%abv and partially a bit hot. 90-91. Heavily overpriced and overcharged though.

It was the 4th btl we opened in 3 months. Opened and poured in the btl but the aroma came out the best in two hours. A very simple PN but overpriced.
