Another $10 gem from our friends at Total Wine. Though not necessarily big, bold and rich, this is a medium bodied mouth full of "Old World" style steely earthiness meets brooding dark fruit. We waited an overnight with the wine in the bottle, expecting the fruit to emerge a little more, which it did. It still stays a little understated, fighting for tasting space on the palate with some cola, charcoal and big young acid. A bit of cocoa powder and graphite. Blackberry preserves finally emerge from the steely structural stuff on the finish.
