Relatively dark low pitched fruit in the nose. Medium weight. Good crunchy crisp finish. Simple or at least much less complex than some of the Morgon I've had recently from Lapierre and even Thevenet, but nevertheless a pleasure to drink.

So Foillard, so Morgon. Interesting to compare with the 16 I had a couple weeks back. Both had his signature juicy, crunchy fruits with a little savoury touch. But I think I preferred the 16 with more overt red fruit, this was a little darker in comparison. Very good structure for a basic bottling, someone commented this was a little too tart but I do like a healthy dose of acid.

Initially on open, a not-very-exciting nose of muddled red fruit and herbs. With air, come to life. This wine just doesn't seem to age. Very pure dark berry fruit, with a sappy and saline character that lasts through the medium-long finish. Plenty of (chewy) tannin and acid for several more years of aging, but delicious fruity and minerally now.

Still quite youthful and tannic. Juicy, rich palate of dark berries, minerality, and plenty of mouth-coating tannin. Nice acidity, bit of cedar, and loads of tannin through the finish. Wait a few more years.

Lots of red dear berries, with some spice and smoke but balanced by stoniness. Serve slightly chilled. Delicious Beaujolais
