Very dark red color, with just a hint of age at the rim. Nose of very dark fruit, game and truffle. Medium body on the palate, with the same elements, ending with a very long finish. This is very good but not profound.

Good color with some separation at the rim. Lovely deep black fruit, cassis, leather and fresh earth. We were pleased at how well this showed at a recent tasting

Excellent fill and bought from domaine on release by a friend. Light ruby with brick/brown signs. Looks light and weedy in the glass. Nose is essence of old 60s burgundy except that it is a wine from 1996! Way past its prime and lots of leather and tertiary fruit (prune notes). Very weak on the palate, thin and frankly an embarrassment for a winemaker trying to sell this on release at US$200/bt and now with an auction value of $486!!! Please save your money and buy something much better. Rousseau is a master of Chambertin and Clos de Beze but perhaps his holding in Charmes is not up to scratch. There are many premier crus that would knock the socks of this. Avoid!
