Silvery gold with green tints, still. A lifted inviting nose. Lemon drops, yellow peach, some flint, and mealy.
Slick palate. More of the same characters from the nose. Good line and length. Starting to develop a creamy, rounded body, and yet still so fresh and fine. Another 10 years or more. Cruise control.

A purer fruited wine than the inaugural 2011 or 2012. Perhaps reflects a better vintage, plus older oak and more puncheons. Deep scented nose, lemon curd and only a hint of mineral (traces of oak and sulphides?).
A really satisfying palate. Deeper flavours than the 11 or 12, more body too. Again lemon curd, white peach. Very good length. Lovely with crumbed snapper!
Combine the fruit depth and long finish of the 14 with the grilled nuts/toastiness of the 12 and you’d have a complete elegant Chardy.

Canberra, Beechworth & Rutherglen wine tour day one (Canberra): aromas of butter, peach, cream, vanilla, slight spice. In the mouth more of the same with spicy notes and mid-palate burr. Nice.
