  • Out of magnum, a bit darker color, decanted for 45 min and needed more time, over the next hour it began to open.

  • From another Tour d'Argent magnum, this wine had yellow center and clear rims. The medium+ intensity nose offered up citrus, yellow stone, honey, white stone, and some marzipan.

In the mouth, this wine was rich and ripe but quite balanced. It had excellent acidity and great length. It was best after 6 hours of air.

This wine is slightly less acidic than the 1990 but rich and outstanding. Drink over the next 5-10 years.

  • very dark, too much oxidation for my taste, though it brightened up a bit with an hours air and there was just enough acid to make it drinkable... some of our friends liked it a lot but not my cup o tea

  • From another good looking bottle, this wine took four+ hours to show its best (as usual).

It was rich and viscous and yet possessed great acidity. In fact, it had pretty much everything one could want in a white Burg, except that it had a touch of excess wood showing.

Please see my other notes for more details. Ready to drink with extended aeration.

  • From an excellent looking bottle with a 2 cm fill, this wine had a deep yellow center and clear rims. The medium intensity nose offered up baguette, vanilla, white stone, and lemon.

As usual, this wine took 4+ hours to show its best. It had plenty of power and richness but it also had crisp acidity and excellent length. This wine had enough power and complexity to score 94 points but was held back by a touch of excess oak.

This wine is just in the middle of its drinking window. It has 10 more years of enjoyability ahead.
