Cork was in excellent condition, as was the wine. Plums, stewed fruit, initially hints of raisin but that faded. Three experienced tasters were quite pleased with the bottle.

Wine-Soaked Saturday, Mostly Burgs (Washington, DC): nose shows stewed fruits. smells tired. still some lamb and tobacco. gamey. very low on the fruit. there's a flavor that's much closer to ashes than tobacco. subtle wine. verging on too weak for me. but if you like earthy, nonfruity wines, this is in a good place. in my opinion, it's five or ten years too late.
