Excellent white blend in a great state right now. Well balanced between saltiness, fruit (pear, kiwi, mango, lychee) and acidity. Not overly lengthy, which keeps it from being awesome, but nevertheless very enjoyable. Can be kept at least for 2-3 years more as well, will probably smooth out and more honeysuckle tones will appear.

Again consumed over two cold evenings but this time not in Arctic conditions due to faulty boiler.
Pretty much what I said back in January - lilies, limes and a light caramel - only a little more pronounced and lingering. No slappy back-tang though. So I officially inch it up a point but will probably pass on further purchases due to lowish QPR.

Drinking over two frozen nights meant this one was never really able to show at its best - my bad. So the rating is little more than a first assessment.
Downbeat perfume of cut lilies on a florist's floor followed by notes of halved limes and last lickings from a jar of caramel.
After a glass or so, a stab of tangy acid seized control for a few minutes but this subsided. The next day, the cold in the house was so pervasive, the last third brought back reminders of hoovering up flat gin and tonics off wedding tables when I was 10.
Will save final bottle for high summer in a bid for more objective analysis.

Not a big fan of oaky buttery Chardonnays, what makes this wine tick is the fact that it's only 15-20% Chardonnay and the majority high acidity Chenin Blanc. I do hope that the blend results in something warranting the actual blend - and the oak and malolactic fermentation are well-integrated and balanced I must say, they don't take over the show.
Initially this wine had a distinct smell of cheese (think Taleggio) so I really advice to decant and let breathe for 1 hour.
