Thirsty Thursday called for two good cabs. This Naked Wine selection was paired against a more expensive bottle of Joel Gott. Side by side there were distinct differences. This came in second. However after an additional time to breathe - the bottle really smoothed out and was a great sipper to finish the evening.

The cedar and cherry nose is textbook Cab, but on the palate I would have pegged it as Syrah or a GSM. It was incredibly autumnal on the first night, like drinking burning leaves. Excellent acidity. With time and air it does move closer to Cab territory. Loaded with dark fruit and nicely structured.

The wine looks garnet colored with legs that are slow. It smells like blackberry and red currant. It tastes like prune, cherry, dust (earthy) and plum. The body is medium/full. The wine has smooth texture and finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.
This is a lighter and dryer cab which is very smooth wine with a mild acidity. If you swish it around in your mouth a little you get great flavors of plum, prune and cherry, that I really am liking. We let it decant for 45 minutes before drinking. This is a great wine!

Solid cab after short decant time. Cherry nose. Good acidity. Better the longer the glass sits
