50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 13 + Smaak / Afdronk: 18 + Algemeen / potentieel: 9 = 95/100

Colour: Striking transparent ruby red with a light orange-brown edge. Aroma / bouquet: The bouquet of this dignified old man has become more subtle in the meantime. But certainly no less attractive, harmonious and seductive. A hint of dried fruit, licorice but no trace of serious tertiary aromas. Taste / Aftertaste: Smooth. Sweetly seductive. Nice balance between acidity, matured and abysmal tannins. Still vital but buttery soft. Long finish. Overall / potential: Beautiful Ch9dP that - as I expected - still doesn't disappoint me 5-6 years later. 50 + Colour: 5 + Aroma / Bouquet: 13 + Taste / Aftertaste: 18 + General / Potential: 9 = 95/100

  • I suspect this may have had more depth a year or two ago but it was very good. Not too complex, but muted CdP flavors, subtle herbs, pretty light fruit, gentle tannins. If I had more of this which I don't I would drink up.

  • 90 pointer but much more simple than RP writes in his buyers guide....

  • Purchased on release and professionally stored ever since. Very alive, with a healthy ruby red color; just a hint of lightening on the rim. Meaty, roasted plums, spice and fire pit. Still holding quit a bit of fruit. Delicious and drinking great with still some upside (for well stored bottles).
