  This did not start out so good as I got a whiff of diesel, and what I thought was a little too much candied fruit on the nose. The fruit is a little candied on the palate also, but overall, the rest of the package is a pretty good effort. The palate has good body and character. There are enough interesting, secondary, non fruit little flavors like brown spice, vanilla, metal and skin tannin combined with some toasty oak to make a tasty, pleasing Pinot. Nice job with the balancing acid. A little short on the mid palate, but the finish has the lingering cherry, tannic, acidic profile we expect from Pinot Noir.
