  • Nose: rose petals, wet earth, blueberry, musk, tar, red fruits
Notes: 1998 is often tricky vintage for Burgundy as I've had many occasions where even some of the best Domaines screw up their top wines. I think this CDLR demonstrates some nice earthy and slight game notes that integrated well with the rose petals and fruits. Certainly most wines from this vintage requires no further cellaring and this is no different, in fact I'd say this is probably well into the 2nd half of its optimal drinking window. Quite lovely the aroma and everything seems to be at the right place, clearly this is a 1998 that I quite enjoy.

  • PNP dinner at Asa. Paired with an 98 Meo NSG Boudots. Aromatically this showed some mature red fruits and plums coupled with forest floor and vitamin on the nose. Lovely palate ripe and deep with a compelling velvety texture and mild acidity. Really nice and in a great spot.

  • This has really matured beautifully over the years. Opened at dinner and decanted initially closed but 2 hours into the drinking window this emerged with a gorgeous addictive Uric acid nose and was delicious and balanced with red cherries and minerals. Now a solid 94

  • Very, very good as usual. Very Morey, with the almost feral sensation that seems to be exclusive To MSDs made by MSD winemakers. Overwhelming sensation of blood orange. Liked it very much.

  • Balanced and at ease, but remained a little introvert.
