This bottle seemed like it was starting to dry out, with fruit fading a bit and the oak tannin coming more to the forefront. Probably a good time to drink these up, as I don't think it will improve at this stage.

This bottle had quite a bit of reductive stink on the nose after opening, and it took an hour or so to blow off. The nose never really did turn into something enjoyable, even the next day, but at least it wasn't offensive. In any case, this was Ok again, not great, and my complaints are still the same, i.e. too oak-driven and overall, a bit muddled and unfocused. It is rich and ripe with enough acidity, so a decent burger, pizza, or party wine.

Served this bottle to some family members. All thought this to be very good. It is rich, ripe, and pleasing and in a good spot. I still found the oak to be intrusive, but the others did not mind it at all.

Went pretty well with Hungarian style goulash, as the smoky notes in the sauce masked some of the overt oak tones in the wine. The overt oak integrated a bit the next evening (vacuum sealed overnight), but the bottle lost a little energy as well.

Decent wine for the style - heavy oak, ripe new world fruit - but not a good value at the CT avg of $44, IMO.
