Dark cherry color. Nice sheen. Ripe mixed berries on the nose, a little baking spice and cream custard - think mixed berry tart. Secondary nose of plums and strawberry licorice. Sweet cherry liquor, plums, licorice root and a little orange bitters on the mid-palate. Long finish with both viscosity and acidity. New world all the way. Fairly straight forward wine.

Second time around, two years later, again in blind tasting, and it performed very well. I really like this wine. Lots of fruit, but I didn't find too much like others did. Very balanced.

Earthier to begin with than before. Had some bitterness on the midpalate and finish that dissipated somewhat with air. Nice spice, forest floor, and pine needle hints. I am not sure if this is in a dumb phase or needs some more time, but the fruit seemed less apparent than a year+ ago, but the secondary nuances were better. 89-91? The bitterness was somewhat limiting.

I was so happy this bottle did not turn. We tasted as part of a six pinot noir blind tasting. This was hands down the best. Nice aroma of vanilla, tobacco. Great balance of acid and tannins. Rich raspberry taste.

Rich and dark with full flavors that all tend toward sweet. Ripe cherries, cedar, and spice. Very smooth with nice structure and lenght.
