In the interests of fairness I need to add a note for my second bottle, which we drank this evening. I handled it much the same way and we drank it over the course of 3 hours with first a lobster dish, and then a salt-crusted sea bass.
After about an hour of being open there was a certain richness to the wine which I didn't detect on the previous occasion (see note below). This sets it apart from lesser sauvignon blancs and makes it a much more interesting wine. I still wouldn't say that it is an "outstanding" wine, but it's certainly a cut above generic SBs: the key thing for me today was the fuller mouth feel (unusual with a pure SB) that developed.
But still, at a price well over US$40 I don't find this to be very good QPR.

Well this was my disappointment of the month, in terms of value. I opened about an hour in advance and then started drinking fairly cool. Initially with an asparagus dish and then with a composed tuna tartare with various radishes.
The initial impression is very "meh". It's sauvignon blanc. It's pleasant enough, but very bland. As it warmed up a bit the flavours become a little less bland, but still absolutely nothing special about this at all. I don't dislike it, but there's really nothing here to justify a price of over US$40 except the name, and I hate paying for the name. I've had plenty of sauvignon blancs at US$20-25 which are more interesting than this.

First of my stock. Served at a dinner party before the meal- bottle evaporated in an instant and praised by the guests.

Full flavored, well-balanced with light citrus flavor; good depth and complexity; lasting finish; powerful.
