The wine appears as a dark red shade with slight browning towards the edges. Upon first sniff, it emits a slightly funky aroma. However, as it opens up, scents of steel, licorice, tobacco, matured fruit, and forest emerge.
On the palate, the wine is clearly mature and showcases secondary aromas of blueberries, plums, prunes, and hints of raisins. With aeration, the wine develops classic notes of lead pencil, snuff tobacco, tea, and dark fruits. It represents a mature wine with a silky yet structured expression.

Semiblindprovades i Riedel rödvinsglas. Luftad i en timme. Mörk röd färg. Smakade inte defekt men dominerades av mineraler och gav därför ett simpelt intryck. En besvikelse då den inte höjde sig över mängden bland andra, betydligt enklare, viner.

Chateau Latour - 30 year vertical (1983-2010) tasted blind (Switzerland): I heard a lot of the bad 1984 vintage but I rarely taste it as it is way before my time of collecting. This was another reminder that I did not miss anything. The 1984 Latour smells not like horse sweat but more like stinky horse poo. Light palate and color. Don’t waste your money on this or any other 1984 Bordeaux.

7/7 quintessential Bordeaux layered nose with surprising persistent fruit on the palate. From a disastrous vintage this is remarkably drinking well.
