big, deep rich Cali cab with some initial green coming perhaps from the cab franc but that quickly passed. wine is classically ripe for Bevan, but reasonably well balanced and not overly hot. Really enjoyed this wine and no doubt 10 years in the bottle has settled it down. that said, this is hardly earthy or showing secondary/tertiary signs of maturity. IF you like Bevan wines, you will enjoy this wine.

Double decanted for 2.5 hrs, deep ruby, dark fruit on both on the nose & palate, med/firm tannins, long finish; outstanding, entering peak drinking, drink or hold, no rush

2023 New Years Eve: See MN Wine Junkie for treatment. Powerful, fruity liqueur, really tasty but kind of cloying. Lots of fruit, maybe too much, earth.

New Years Eve (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Very dark red/purple color. PNP, drank a glass over 90 minutes. Bold and filled with purple fruit, cassis and creme de cassis, mulberry, blackberry liqueur, very good, modern styled Napa. It's all about the fruit here. Still holding up a couple days later.

The nose is perfumed with violets, dried porcine mushrooms and potpourri. The palate is a kaleidoscopic combination of dark and red fruit with notes of chocolate, earth, forest floor, and some mushroom, tobacco and tar. Very nice wine that is squarely in my wheelhouse, but slightly outshone tonight by the 2015 Penultimate. Solid 95 for me!

2023 New Years Eve Celebration! (Kevin's House): I like Bevan wines! This is clearly Napa, and it is all about the fruit, although this was showing some tertiary notes too!
