Double decantd for 90 min, deep ruby, dark fruit with a touch of bacon on the nose, black raspberries on the palate, med. tannins, long finish; outstanding & probably just entering its peak drinking, but no rush. A distinct difference from the jammy 05s

Wine Bros Australia Deep Dive (Orsay): There are those who would say that this is the best Shiraz out of Australia (I remember being told that about 10 years ago). While I don’t really agree, it is a nice wine. Made with a bit of Viognier (just a very little bit, enough to create some sense of floral in the nose). For me this was just all berries and actually surprised me how much it tasted almost like what I’d expect for the Les Amis that was all Grenache.

Blackberry, dark cherry, and plum, oak and vanillin towards the mid-palate, with some pepper and garrigue. A well-balanced heavy wine with high ABV (forgot to note it, but I believe it was 15%ish). This drinks a little bit like a Cali Zin in style, with the high alcohol and abundant fruit. But it also has a lot more going on in the lingering tertiary notes that adds some elegance and finesse. This is a great food wine, and stands up well to spicy food.

Big, bold dark fruits wine, with the body to carry the high alcohol, though not a lot of spice or pepper. Do not rush, minimum 2 hours open needed to really get the full spectrum. Still lots of life left in it, another 10 years at least.
