More youthful than our recent bottles of this wine upon opening. Nice juicy bold fruit of stewed plums and rambly black raspberries, a nice balanced cedar component, baking spices, particularly nutmeg. The tannins have all resolved and the finish is short and smooth. This wine went great with our chili.
The wine did begin to fall apart after about 2 hours from decant.

We recently had a 2011 of this Syrah, which we thought was much better. Not that this wine is bad, as it has no off-flavors and is easy drinking, it just doesn't seem to have much character. Has fairly simple flavors of subdued dried dark fruit (thin) and black pepper spice. The finish is short and clean. Drink up, this will not get better.

A juicy and peppery Syrah in both the nose and palate. We didn't give this bottle much time to open, though it provided hints of flavors depths that would become more expressive when given a proper decant. The richness and spiciness of this wine made it an perfect pairing with our Katz's Deli Rubin and Pastrami sandwiches. This wine will benefit from at least 3 more years of cellaring.

Great nose and palate. Brambly and juicy red and blue fruits, a firm level of black pepper, cedar and a crazy lengthy smooth peppery succulent finish.
