Random wines tasting (Oinoscent): Tasted from a magnum bottle that was opened the day before and was half-empty The wine shows bright clear golden color. The wine shows medium to high intensity, very ripe citrus, lemon, tin pineapple, preserved quince, thin oak frame and quite few oxidative notes. In the palate, the wine shows massive character, overripe citrus, quince, preserved lemon, very salty, mineral, high acidity, alcohol heat (15%), loads of residual sugar with long finish

Very dark gold bordering to amber. Honey, beeswax, glue and ETA on the nose alongside dried figs and flinty minerality. Full-bodied, extremely dense and oily textured, very sweet with balancing acidity and a very long aftertaste. A monster of an assyrtiko. Not to be drank with food other than cheese such as gorgongiola or blue stilton. Very particular.

Wines of The Aegean (King George Hotel): Deep gold color, clean nose with high intensity of oak derived notes, bittery, almond and walnut plus some oxidative tones of honey, syrup, bitter almond, quince and lime. The wine is demi-sec, full body with high intensity, 15% alcohol, high acidity, butter, oak, biscuit, honey and syrup, sugar coated fruits, considerable alcohol burn, feels disconnected at this point (it was bottled a week before), med+ finish of sugar and alcohol. Needs considerable time to come together 87+

Medium gold. Heavy and complex nose with scents of citrus, tangerine, honey, pineapple along with some oxidative notes. Big in the mouth with lots of residuals; felt as if they are >10gr. The sweetness made it a bit heavy, for the acidity was somewhat struggling to bring balance. The finish was endless. A real monster, I bet not everyone will like it. I did.
