Champagnes at Chaoshan: At a better stage of development than two years ago while still retaining its freshness. Sweet and ripe, slightly exotic fruit still predominant. Balanced and rich for the vintage but just missing the incisiveness of better years.

others loved it and found it to have the richness of Meursault, in sparking form, but to me it was too reduced and/or sulfurous to enjoy. I had to donate the remainder of my glass to my tablemate.

Cult Grower Champagne (Shinzo Sushi): Disgorged April 2015, pale gold lemon, reductive notes which lingers even after sitting in the glass. Red apple, lemon, touch smokey, rich on the palate much more integrated compared to the Suenen in the same flight. Fine mousse typical of his style with high acidity. Salty long finish with lots of delicate flavours. This is the kind of champagne to savour slowly over a meal for one to enjoy and develop.

Mainly Bordeaux at SSG: Had the usual Bouchard signature of the interplay between ripe fruits and low dosage. Agree with the friend who brought this that this is his best cuvee but unfortunately this didn't transcend the vintage. Very good still but missing the tension and cut of better vintages.

NFN: Absolutely love this bottle. A bit savory on the nose and palate with tiny bubbles.
