From Magnum. 12/08 disgorgement. Very good. A few things are pretty clear hear. The 10 year bottle age and the Chardonnay dominated base shine through with a leesy, doughy, brioche dominated wine. There is verve and zest here that keeps this fresh well into its second day of being opened. Some orchard fruit and citrus. This to me is a classic Champagne. While the vintage is not a heralded one for the region, this wine stands out. Unfortunately only one bottle on hand but it was quite enjoyable.
Excellent balance that develops over an evening. Starts a little tight and alcoholic but open beautifully. Has toast, hazelnut and white peach. There is still freshness and yet had integrated nicely with hints of sherry. Will hold nicely for another 3-5 yrs.
