Un vin d’une rare plénitude ayant un bouquet étonnant de fruit noir et de thym même. Couleur très sombre, bouche complexe et puissante qui possède une magnifique longueur. Très beau.

In contrast to a lot of Spanish wines made with prodigious use of oak these days, this effort is made in a much more austere style, especially for a Syrah blend. The use of large foudres places the focus squarely on the fruit and winemaking. Exhibiting a beautifully opaque dark red, the dominant characteristic is deep black/blue fruit combined with dark chocolate to combine for an impressive weight and medium finish. Acidity is a nice harmonious medium, suggesting to me it will age gracefully and likely merit a higher score in future years.

Mostly 50-80 yr old Carinena vines, fermented with wild yeast and aged in foudre, this has ripe, meaty tones of fresh earth and baking spices.
