At first, this was a monolithic showing, especially next to some of the more ethereal and delicate wines also at the table. With air, the flavors deepened, but still remained somewhat primary and a little overly-confident. Saturated red and black raspberry, rhubarb, and earth all deliver a solid dollop of flavor and singular push on the palate. This was the wine that paired best with a 60-day tomahawk steak with mushroom hollandaise. It could use a few more years in bottle to shed some of the brutishness (by Grand Cru Red Burgundy standards), but it's a solid athlete to be sure.
It's not angular or angry; it's just a little pushy with its flavors - which I don't necessarily mind at all. I'm all into flavor-forward wines - with balance. However, if you're wanting a more graceful presentation of flavor, best wait a while longer. The stuffing is impressive, but I sense it is in some transition at the moment (at least, based on this bottle). Huge upside after 2028+

Rhubarb, wild ripe strawberry, RC Cola, red and black cherry, bruised raspberry, dark earth, and subtle vanilla liqueur. Deep and concentrated, with slamming grip and speed that beg for more time in the bottle. Finishes with both gushing fruit and pulsating acidity. A great wine in motion. 96+ points. Hold for 4-5 years.

Sweet and sour cherry components. Also Cola/Dr Pepper in background with vanilla and some forest floor elements. This is very good but needs time. Wait 5 years.

Olivier Bernstein Cellar Visit and Tasting (Beaune): Barrel tasting at the domaine. ML 80% complete. Red and black cherries coming through on nose and palate with lots of spice. Incomplete Malo makes this tough to fairly assess, but this has lots of great components that seem to be coming together nicely, making me think this will have mid 90 point potential.
