Dark purple, opaque, inky. Initial nose of vanilla/oak. Evoled to dark fruits. Mouth of plush dark fruit. Tannins are fully integrated. Not at all hot considering the 16.4% alcohol.

My last bottle of this amazing wine! I can say it has gone through quite a bit of evolution since it hit my cellar. The color remains a dense dark opaque purple colored wine. The nose upon opening was very striking. I expected much less fruit, but was shocked at how fragrant this wine has become. There was a fragrant jammy plumb essence with a touch of the Gamba marzipan flavor, which has finally tamed down. The tannins are completely resolved. The flavors match the nose to a tee. This wine is now in decline after two hours of decantation, but wonderful to drink. Enjoy it over the next couple of years. Thanks Gus! EG

Blackberry essence with alcohol up front ( Didn't notice as much on the first bottle I had ). Hints of licorice, tobacco and an ever present blackberry spice that keeps you coming back for more.Another excellent offering that is propelling Gus and Paulette to Zin stardom. My new pet project is acquiring mags of these big zins to see if they age longer. Still like the 94
