We found the perfect pairing: Petrale sole with capers, butter, white wine, pearl onions, and parsley. This wine paired perfectly with that dish. The wine’s fruit and acidity have come into perfect balance now in 2021. We drank the rest of the bottle the next night, and it had clouded up a bit even though we pumped the bottle and restored it in the cellar. Drink now through 2022 at the latest.

I guess we weren’t as wowed by this wine as other tasters. I thought it was a touch tart on opening, improved with air. Some good, red fruit, a little earth and forest floor. A little rustic. Perhaps too much tart cranberry for my palette.
Better with food. We had it with a burrata ravioli and chicken sausage with feta and kale. Improved by the food.
I’d rather drink the other Fort Ross wines.

Amazing QPR. This wine delivers a deep, coastal Pinot Noir flavor profile with incredibly smooth mouthfeel. A very satisfying wine, especially for the price.

Terrific with our pizza (with pepperoni, sausage, herb). Really brought out the red fruit and herb flavors. Much better with the food.
