Easily the most chocolate-y whisky I've tried so far Nice base of caramel and other oaky notes with a clear velvety chocolate fudge note up top on the palate. Very pleasant and drinkable and not a novelty whisky by any means--it just captures that dark barley note and carries it high. Big hit with all types of drinker at our house when people come over. Definite repeat bottle.

Whisky-Club sample, round 1, sample 10. The Aberfeldy 12yo was sweet and fruity, with some exotic fruit, orange, cereal and vanilla aromas and flavours. It was light- to medium-bodied, with warming alcohol and average. This whisky did not have much concentration or complexity, but was pleasantly creamy and reasonably balanced. A sweet, easy, pleasant 12 Year Old. Body 3/10, Smoke 1/10, Sweetness 4/10.

A Night of Burgundy Indulgence (Fisherman's Wharf Restaurant, Singapore): What a fantastic 12-year whisky. Tasted blind, I would have thought a 15 or 18 year Highland Park. Deceptively light colour, with a lovely, perfumy nose that showed nice fruit and a touch floral along with a nice trickle of peatiness. Really smooth on the palate, with rich flavours and a lovely peaty finish. Not super complex, but oh so smooth and balanced.

This is a good solid drink, with nice texture and composition, but I can't say outstanding.
