Balanced, surprisingly fresh, delicious.Went perfectly with roasted salmon. I doubt it will improve from here, but we enjoyed it from beginning to end. Alexandrine Roy is a superb winemaker.

Nose was decent, but not great for a village. Nose of cherries, violet and hint of spice. Palate was a completely different story...talk about bait and switch. Acidity was rampant for a bottle with 6 years of age already, reminded me of a poorly made oregon pinot in the mouth. Would've been better just smelling and not tasting. Luckily I had it with food as I couldn't down it alone. Go spend your $60 elsewhere

Aromatics of red cherries, strawberries, violets and spices soar from the glass.
Took quite a while before revealing medium flavors of sweet red cherry fruits, some vanilla oak, and saline minerals.
Slightly more oak influence here compared to the Duroche but it’s already well integrated. Stylistically different but qualitatively similar. These 2014 villages are open for business now.

Late night at La Maison du Colombier, Beaune: A bouquet of tilled earth, red cherries, red currants and smoky, barbequed meats. On palate, a classic Gevrey Villages wine. Largely red fruited, savoury and pleasingly lean. Earthy and brambly with meat juices and some dried plums. Mineral and fine. A decent Villages level Gevrey. Drink from now.
