Tasted after 90 minutes of air. Still going strong. Dark red berry fruit with some drying tannins. Cocoa notes. Excellent balance. A big wine that still has plenty of life left. No rush on these.

This wine is drinking well, and has aged nicely over the past year+. After 2 hour decant—nose of leather, pencil shavings, dark fruit, and pie spice. Balanced mouth with dark berries, black cherry, hints of allspice and black pepper. Velvety texture and soft, integrated tannins with a lingering finish. All told, a lovely experience.

Been holding this to test its age ability. Opened with a cedar and anise nose that morphed into dusty sage with muted dark fruits. Tannin emerges in the finish along with acidic overtones. Hoping that as it gets older the tannins will subside and release the fruit I think is there. I’ll revisit it in a year.

This was drinking well right out of the bottle, but it didn't really shine until 2-3 hours in the decanter. The nose featured notes of graphite, leather, cocoa, and with time, burning embers, spice, and chocolate melded with bright fruit flavors, particularly cherry, cranberry, and strawberry, with the wine turning darker with time. It gained weight with time as well in the mouth, revealing dark fruits, spice, and chocolate, followed by a nice, seamless finish.
We last opened with over a year ago, at which point a strong oak/vanilla/butter element dominated the wine. This is still present, but much more integrated with the fruit flavors (which have become notably more prominent). This seems to have been a strong vintage for this estate; this offering is not as deeply concentrated as it tends to be in some other vintages, but this is not a bad thing; it's still full-bodied, but more suave and elegant, and with years of life ahead.

Tasted after 1 hour of air. Dusty red berry fruit. Tannins have melted away. Some red currents. Nice grip and spice on the mid palate. Medium finish.
Tasted on day 2. Again some nice dusty red berry fruit. Still very fresh. Plenty of verve.
