A beautiful and fully integrated PYCM where the matchstick is perfectly integrated with the rich, smoky white fruits. Aromatically intense and inviting as is the palate. Lovely when the reduction plays nicely on these wines.

The overwhelming sulfur/struck match reduction this gave off obscured the otherwise good aromatic and flavors beneath. Did not blow off over 90 minutes open.

I think my first btl of this must have been from a friend's stock as I thought I was out of this. On the nose: massive reduction, with loads of struck match...this suggests a gravitas that the wine just can't live up to. Reduction dominates the nose, so there's nothing else to say about that. On the palate, hi-toned meyer lemon, rich lemon tart with butter, but surprisingly light-bodied..leaning a touch thin. Ok finish, which shows some white pepper. OK, but slightly disjointed...moral is: noble reduction and a big punt does not a great white burg make?

Quite a bit of reduction/matchstick upon opening but with a little air it blows off and everything harmonizes. In terms of flavor profile, Jeremy Holmes’ note of 4/15/18 is spot on. Drinking really well right now, but no rush.

Spectacular and complex wine with multiple layers of flavor. Long finish well after you swallow. Dried apricot, earthy ambrosia.
