This wine stood out at a NZ v Burgundy tasting organised by Tanners. Mid-gold but no hint of oxidation, lovely floral citrus nose with a long rich palate finishing with pleasant acidity. Superb value.

Delas Hermitage Masterclass with Steven Spurrier (Handford Wines, London): From magnum a a step better than the 2015 ( Papies 87) and really pretty now. Yellow fruits, mineral and purity here galore. Nice energy but also soft and with good presence on the palate. Much like the 2015 a very happy wine , unpretentious and with character. Good 89

Great nose of dusty apricot and some citrus, minerals and alcohol. Maybe herbs. Attack is surprisingly low-profile, just a little acidity in a buttery texture. Mid-palate gets there with some sweetness, but the proof is in the long finish with more sweetness, mouthwatering acidity, and some herbs coming up. Great stuff! 50+4+13+16+8=91

Past peak but still interesting. It is very advanced though.
