  • Still a fairly large scaled wine. The nose is very rich with a lot of purple fruit as well as plum pudding type aromatics. The palate is really concentrated with the alcohol really coming to the forefront as well as a good hint of oak. Not a whole lot of acid for a barbera but a fun summer wine.

  • RUSSK WSW at Mike' Cellar Clearance Party. First bottle 88pts. Second bottle 91pts, everyone liked. Nice Peid nose, soft acidity and enough tannins.

  • For some reason these bottles were sealed with defective corks. All these bottles had soft, punky corks that either leaked into the capsules or disintegrated when opened. Every bottle tasted fine, but in a restaurant these would have embarrassed the server when opened at the table. Everybody tonight (13 bottles) said this was a special wine and they would like to drink it again, but I don't quite know how to recommend it to people. Just be ready for ugly uncorking, and then be ready for an exceptional wine. (Also, heavy, crusty sediment in the bottle, with a big load of fine sediment in the last glass from each bottle.)
