Finally starting to show out after having been open for 28 or so hours. At first it seemed quite muddled, with little focus, finesse or even defined fruit. Time to render a verdict! This is a very dark cherry/ruby color, opaque for all intents and purposes. The nose is finally showing elegant, ripe cherry fruit that opens prettily into the olfactory appendage that is the nose. I'm quite taken aback at how much better the nose is tonight! Happily! Finally smells the way I'd always hoped this wine would smell, but never did until now. I'm not quite as enamored with the palate, but that is only by comparison to the stellar nose. Continues to be a tad awkward but still delivers nice fruit; will more time knit it all together into a seamless whole? That's for others to find out, as this was my last bottle. At present: 5-14-15-8: 92/100.

PnP'd with Thanksgiving dinner: dark cherry fruit with some herbal notes (thyme) and superb Santa Cruz body and minerality. Evolved nicely in the glass, but obviously would have benefitted from a one-hour decant.

A bit austere , very pinot w a bunch of alcohol on the nose , needs time in the air. I cant imagine this working out with the drinking window listed. OK/Good. 24 hours later the wine is a bit more solid , with fruit.

The finish is much weaker than last time. Still a great bottle.
