Pale garnet….very much full of colour and alive. Nose of wet moss, wet leaves, dark plum, earth, sweat cassis, mushroom, graphite, pencil lead, ash, subtle flowers, and orange rind Palate is dominated by earthy notes…..ash, forest floor, cassis, mushroom, pencil lead but still some fruit poking through with cherry and cassis notes. Also, still very much alive and showing some impressive structure….tannins are present. Finish is medium + with layered complexity….pretty wine….better experience.

Tasted double blind, from a perfectly stored bottle that has not been moved from the chateau since bottling, I was sure this was from the 1950's, because it tasted so young and fresh for its age. Medium bodied, soft and dsplaying the patina of age, the essence of tobacco, cedar, cigar box and fresh cherries, with that beautiful, earthy, wet forest aroma that only comes from serious aging were what this wine is all about. I will probably never see another bottle of this beauty. But I can assure you, I will never forget tasting it!

Crystalline scarlet ruby with just a hint of bricking at the edge. Wafting aromas of cherry pipe tobacco. Simply lovely right now with no hard edges
