Nose seems big, but tight, with notes of durian, petrol, banana, and lemon. Juicy, open, delicious, slightly spritzy palate, with flavours of ginger, pear, lemonade, and grapefruit zest. Sweet, but with enough acid to keep the sweetness in check.
Similar to my last note, this is rich, full, honeyed, and exotic. You just need to be ready for the rich and sweet side of this wine, and it delivers. Holding up well and was great after dinner with cheese. A
Deep gold color. Nose leaps out just after uncorking. I get a fair amt of botrytis on the palate here. Apricot, honey, peach, peach pit, and a little pear. Maybe some ginger, or maybe that was just carryover from the food. Viscous mouthfeel with some weight. Sweet but not cloying. Went well enough with a Lunar New Year meal of potstickers with chili-bean sauce, and kung pao chicken. The price tag was $34.99, a steal. The 2013 end of drinking window on Cellartracker is too short. It is in no danger of falling off yet.
