Late Dec 2022: dark yellow color; apple, citrus and petrol aromas/flavors in the nose; oily texture; started with a strong juicy acidity on the palate; no residual sweetness; slightly unbalanced; after 2 h more mellow, with some fruity notes; light astringency in the finish. 88-89/100
Now at the end of his lifespan. Better to drink any remaining bottles.

Popped and poured. Dark gold colour. On its own, a bit heavy and alcoholic with a flat, dry finish. However, with some spicy pizza (pepperoni and jalapenos) it was a fabulous pairing!

Appearance: Bright and clear, it has medium gold color, with watery rims and legs. Nose: Clean, with medium (+) intensity aromas of citrus fruit such as lemon, green fruit of ripe pear, maturity notes of honey, floral notes of honeysuckle, kernel notes of toasted almond, mineral notes of stony. The wine is developing. Palate: Dry with high acidity, the wine has medium alcohol, medium (-) body and medium (+) intensity flavors of citrus fruit such as lemon and lime, green fruit of ripe pear, maturity notes of honey and hints of petrol, mineral notes of stony. The wine has a medium (+) finish. Conclusion: Very good quality high-priced Alsace Riesling, showing a good concentration and complex nose, but the most notable feature of the wine is the high acidity, providing a good crisp and refreshing palate, finesse that is surprising for a wine having aged for so many years. With good intensity and a fairly long finish, it is ready to drink now but can still be maintained for another 2-3 years.

A private lunch with friends (Restaurant De Lage Vuursche, Lage Vuursche, NL): Light golden colour with amber reflections; caramel popcorn nose, spicy honey and a deep, volcanic minerality; very firm and structured palate, spicy flavours, very good length. Very evolved, but hugely interesting.

Great balance, beautiful acidity and minerals, great length. Feels still fairly young
