This bottle not showing as well as previous bottles. Still a nice Pinot with the usual red berries and cherries, a bit of spice and plenty of acidity still. However this bottle showed some sour fruit, maybe a bit of astringency. Perhaps the wine is just getting older and losing its fruit. Still a nice quaff.
Last bottle two years ago, not much change. Nice soft and easy California Pinot. Red berries, cherries, cassis, with a little pepper spice. To me, nicely balanced with medium body, not a big wine. While this wine isn't past its peak, I don't think any more time will improve it. Time left, easy food wine.

PnP, tasted - then decanted for about 20 minutes which allowed the wine to open. Pleasant aromas of dark red fruit with a touch of cola. The medium bodied palate showed a good dose of dark red fruits, some pepper, some spice, and only a touch of cola. The acidity was vibrant and balancing, the tannins were completely integrated, and there was very little evidence of the earthiness of the 2012. The wine may be showing a bit of age, but it still provides a solid showing, and could hold for another year or so.

Definitely entry point Pinot for Martinelli. Has nice nose but not great depth of flavors. Sour cherry and cola. Perhaps the wine is past prime.
