  • This is one of the best cabs I have had. I had it before, and it still amazes me for its individuality.
Is it like a burgundy ? No of course not - Even though every other tasting reference seems to be. Its not like any bordeaux, napa or tuscan, not chilean or south african . Its "just" australian in a not big fruity/berry kind of way. You can smell it, definately has an eucalyoptus kind of vibe on it. The taste is vibrant and acidic and more tobacco and cedar tree than fruit and berries. Light yet heavy - the balance is great and its not just soft, it challenges you. And the taste continues. I still think this can develop. I drank this over several hours and it was a climb up the interesting hill and no descent.

In short if you like soft non acidic wine its not for you. If you are in to barolo, you might be more intrigued.

  • Still quite full, albeit with 8 years of cellaring. Drinking very nicely and would benefit from laying down for a few more years before drinking the next bottle. 1 hour decant and consumed over 3 hours.
