Dark garnet hue. Dark berry nose-- blackberry, cherry, slight spice. Smooth drinking with medium body. Little smoke, oak, black licorice. Medium finish. Terrific house wine, Worth trying; especially at the price.

Had in Atlanta. Very recognizable Merlot on the palate (imho), but very young. I would say nice selection by the glass, nicer a year-two from now. Yet, drinkable as a by the bar glass (87-88)
(This one was better than the wine btg earlier this evening )

Nelm's Road is Woodward Canyon's second label. This Merlot is dark garnet in the glass offering pronounced aromas and flavors of blackberry and black cherry and muted smoke, tar, oak and licorice. It has a medium-length finish and is clearly intended for immediate enjoyment. A delicious, medium-bodied, everyday drinker with a great (under $25/bottle) QPR.

Not a big merlot fan but this is pretty darn good stuff. Dark, full bodied and robust. Not a weak handshake wine. Good on wood can!
