Dark colour and a powerful bouquet of black licorice spice and fruit. After an hour in the decanter the tannins eased some and the wine took on some complexity. Little change from another year in the cellar, so no hurry to drink that last remaining bottle. Very enjoyable wine to ponder over.
Definitely getting better with age. Nose of cassis, earth, and spices with lots of depth and layers. Lush fruit, solid structure, good grip, and a nice finish. This one is just getting started and has many years of improvement ahead of it!
Still very tannic and close upon opening, but 2hrs later and with steak, was really showing well. Showed a very dark merlot driven profile with plum, toast and coffee notes throughout. But showed a lengthy fine controlled finish of black fruits and mocha that really sold me. Needs 3-5yrs but can be drunk now with plenty of air if not tannin adverse.
