  • Now I understand the meaning of the word "decadent" when applied to wine :)
Crushed (almost cooked) red berries and cherry aromas are followed by scents of umeboshi (Japanese plum), cheese, dry leaves, dry flowers. Hints of chocolate and toast.
Soft in the mouth, with ripe medium tannins and still a medium acidity. Body too is medium, but the wine feels like velvet. Very long finish, leaving a chocolate and crushed cherry impression.
The long ageing, evident from the colour, borders dangerously the maderization line, but I don't think this bottle was exactly "faulty": it had past its peak. Could the cooked berry impression be a sign of not optimal storing? Anyway I liked it: complex, aged, but still enjoyable. Just, drink it soon.
