Retail $45(?). Heavy bottle. 100%(?) Cabernet Sauvignon. I picked up a couple of bottles of this wine at the winery more than seven years ago and they have been sitting in my cellar since. Yowza. Inky dark in the glass with a flinty, dirty aspect which made me pause and wonder if the bottle was corked (I am pretty sure it isn't). There is some dark fruit, and plenty of earth on the nose as well. The palate puts the "corked?" debate to rest as there is plenty of red and black fruit, a zingy acidity, and even a slice of verve. Very Good. 89 Points.
I honestly believe that the other tasters previous to me did not give this wine enough time in the bottle, as my pouring was exceptional. Gushing with black currants, licorice and cassis, it is a stellar example of a mature cabernet. Knights Valley has always been a Sonoma hotspot for me( Beringer Knights has always been one of my favorite pours), and this exemplifies the region to a tee. I only wish that Rodney hadn't dumped that 90 million gallons of grape juice into the Russian River - what a waste!!

deep garnet, minimal aroma, faded plum flavor, flat acid and tannins, watery finish: drink soon hoping you have a better bottle, poor qpr @ $20
