  • I'm generally down on most C-noirs, finding them overly ripe and heavy - without lift and life. This has been consistently one of the few I do like even though its a bit ripe and heavy. Somehow this team seems to be able to pack in a little more interesting depth and character (I would still take a Littorai over one of these almost any day) and this 10 year old wine has held up well. Its still a solid chunk but compared to the recently tasted Libarle C-noir, it has a much more interesting flavor profile with fruit ranging from blackberry to cherry and earthy savory notes adding back fill to keep it from being too "grapey".

My last bottle of this particular vintage from a dwindling supply of DuMol - I dropped my mailing list subscription a few years back when they grew the corporate structure, raised the already high prices and seemingly doubled down on the "California style". I think there is much more interesting stuff coming out of Oregon these days. Some even at better prices

  • Largely consistent with previous tasting note, but the astringency from a few years ago is now gone, and the palate has filled out with a soft, inviting texture. Still some upside over the next 2 years, I think, but no one would fault you for opening a bottle now.

  • Happy that found this in my cellar - beautiful wine with a
Medium body and strawberry bing cherry taste profile that has become hard to find in CA overextracted PNs - excellent wine

  • Almost tasted initially like an Oregon pinot, like Patricia Green. Light burgundy color, light at rim, but still a little deeper than usual Pinots. Tannins evident, acid also. Unique fruit also. Almost a bit like Chianti, heaven forbid. Long finish and really stay in the mouth well after consumed. Rugged flavors, and a touch bitter, very slight. This flavor pinot is so dominant. One of the most strongest pinot flavors I've ever had. What will day two bring?
