  • Sweet, ripe, fresh cherries and plums start the nose and are followed by notes of clementine orange, dried violet, cardamon spice, pine and a touch of animal fur. Discernible but very fine tannins outline a relatively round, voluptuous fruit. Acidity is well judged and balances the fruit nicely. Tremendous, grand vin.

  • Drunk over two days.
On the first one the nose starts on notes of warm bread and broth, with fruit in the background. Dark berries and floral notes too, which come to dominate on day two, when a spicy twist shows up.
On the palate this is juicy and with rather high acidity, matched by flavor intensity and extract. The last sips of the evening were unbalanced towards the acidity.
On day two it showed blood oranges, with a strong mineral component and a spicy touch. Tannins are very fine-grained, almost without texture.
Having tasted the wine in August I have the impression the fruit has receded somewhat, which makes the wine a bit unbalanced at the moment.
Flavorwise this shows already good complexity and many subtle nuances, which promise well for its future.

  • VinAare seminars (Bern, Switzerland): Whole cluster. Wow, this just EXPLODES from the glass. Smoky, wild stemmy and truly breathtaking. Incredible concentration without the slightest hint of heaviness. Tannins (whole cluster fermentation brings extra structure to the party) show up on the finish, subtle, suave and polished but quite persistent and grippy. This is a truly stunning wine.
