Medium to dark Ruby colour in the glass. Big nose of red fruit berries and plum, vanilla and the 15% alc showing. Tasting the wine reveals a smooth wide dark fruit and vanilla driven palate with medium tannins. Long finish with tertiary notes coming through of leather, tar and green vine. May not have the cellar life of other vintages in my view but drinking well right now. Will test a few more bottles over the next week.

IMHO, whatever you may think of Australian Shiraz, regardless of all the past fruit bombs, the sweet gak, and the unbalanced “crap”, this wine will completely RESET your opinion of what a high quality Shiraz might be. And for the record, California has shown similar shortcomings🙂.
Jumps out of the glass with chocolate (oak), juicy plum (fruit), and pronounced iron ore (minerality). Decanting and a chargrilled ribeye, grilled asparagus and mushrooms helped bring this into focus. In development, but somewhat primary, this has HUGE potential over the next 20 years. Recommend holding, lots of raw potential, needs time to integrate. Drink through 2039.

The nose was really expressive, so my expectation was a full body and powerful wine. Surprisingly, the body was quite elegant and seamless. Great work. It’s a perfect wine for a quiet night with a novel in hand.

Black currant and tar on the nose. Juicy dark fruit flavours, a touch of earth and tobacco on the mid palate. Beautifully full and rounded with the subtle oak tieing it all together. Drinking really well.

Better on opening than after a night under cork, but tasty both nights. Good, pulsing acidty, and enough tannic structure to balance deep fruit.
