  • #25-97, 8.5% abv. From half-bottle. In some sense, I'm not totally certain this was a sound bottle, but it was nonetheless quite delicious to drink. This is really dark, more akin to those old Johannisberg rieslings that California made decades ago, and there is some of that mature botrytis on the nose and palate here. It's not madeirized, to be sure. Despite the richness and oily texture, this is actually quite light and high-acid on the palate, which is a pretty fun juxtaposition. I much preferred the Brücke alongside.

  • Unfortunately, either over the hill or poorly stored. Color was brown. Much darker than expected. Aromas of roasted pecans, brown sugar, raisins. Flavor was not complex - mostly very sweet apple cider.
