Cost $10.50. The cork is somewhat crumbly, leaving particles in the glass. (Let me step on my soap box and advocate artificial corks and screw-tops.) The colour is inky, as usual. No decanting and no time to breathe in the bottle. The aroma is, disappointingly, a wee bit like a Dornfelder, and a bit reticent. The flavour does not waste time in hitting you. There is a largeness to it, as advertised. But the aftertaste is not entirely pleasant, at least on first tasting. The fruitiness is average, like most Petite Sirahs in my limited experience. This wine is quite dry: the tannins, though somewhat softened, are firmly structural, to be sure, and this wine could be aged several more years. Good QPR. Overall, good (82 to 83) to quite good (84) if you like Petite Sirah.
