  • Better than the previous bottle, but past its peak some time ago.

  • This wine is quite a bit past its prime and appears to be a on steep downward path. Bottles opened in 2005 time frame would immediately fill the entire room with whopping big fruit. Now much of the fruit nose is gone and there is not much left on the palate, as well. The backbone of the bottle was, unfortunately, acid, tannin, and alcohol. The powerful fruit of the past is long past. If you have any of this one, drink it up fast.

  • Opened up for friends last night and watched the eyeballs roll back in various sockets. Rich black currant with cassis, pepper, licorice, oak, and a touch of cedar. Typical California highly-extracted and not super complex, but a wonderful wine that paired **perfectly** with grilled lamb chops. Tooth stainer. Sorry I only had one bottle!
