Strong notes of cassis superimposed on a background of earthy barnyard scents lead into a warm dark fruit core with nicely balanced acidity and tannins. A dry mouth feel on finish gives way to a lingering currant and blackberry syrup.
Purchased at release and kept in ideal condition. The original intent was to organize two horizontal tastings, one at release then ten years later. Youthful nose of cassis, blueberries, lead pencil, flowers and a slight hint of cedar. Excellent concentration, sweet fruits and sweet tannins. Quite enjoyable with forward youthful fruits but will improve for the next ten years if one prefers the tertiary notes. This wine gives a very good reason to cellar minor Bordeaux from a great vintage.
